ChinaInChat Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ChinaInChat handles personal information when you use our website, contact us through WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram or another supported channel, request travel support, arrange bookings, or use related customer forms and services.

1. Who we are

ChinaInChat is a traveler-facing travel-support brand operated by BEIJING JIANGGONGCHANG CULTURE COMMUNICATION CO., LTD., a company registered in Beijing, China. ChinaInChat provides support for independent travel in China, including travel planning, local recommendations, booking coordination, itinerary support and in-trip assistance.

In this Policy, “ChinaInChat,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to BEIJING JIANGGONGCHANG CULTURE COMMUNICATION CO., LTD. when it provides the ChinaInChat service. Our registered address is 01-1007, 3rd Floor, No. 99 Shuixian West Road, Beijing 101100, China.

2. Information we collect and handle

We handle information that you provide, information created while we provide a service, and limited technical information needed to operate our website and communication channels. Depending on your request, this may include:

3. Travel documents and accompanying travelers

Where a booking or booking-assistance request genuinely requires it, we may request limited travel-document information, such as nationality, document type, document number, issuing country and expiry date. Please do not send passport numbers or document images in ordinary chat when a protected submission flow is available.

Travel-document information is handled only for a defined booking, compliance or service purpose. It is kept separately from ordinary messages, protected with encryption and access controls, and available only to authorized personnel who need it for that purpose. It is not used for public timelines, advertising profiles, routine recommendations, push notifications or ordinary message content.

Before providing information about another traveler, you must be authorized to do so and obtain any consent required by applicable law.

4. How we use information

We use information as necessary to respond to your enquiry, provide and improve requested travel support, coordinate bookings and local services, process or reconcile payments, maintain service records, prevent fraud or misuse, protect our systems, meet legal obligations, and communicate important service updates. We rely on your request, your consent where required, performance of a service arrangement, legitimate operational interests, or another lawful basis applicable to the processing.

5. When we share information

We share only the information needed for a specific purpose. This can include:

Third parties handle the information they receive under their own terms and privacy notices. We do not sell personal information.

6. International processing

China travel support may involve customers, suppliers, communication platforms and service infrastructure in different countries or regions. When information is processed or transferred internationally, we use the notices, consents, contracts or other safeguards required by applicable law.

7. Retention and security

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, resolve disputes, maintain security and audit records, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, or support legitimate business operations. We then delete, anonymize or otherwise dispose of it as appropriate.

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls, purpose-based authorization, encrypted storage for protected travel documents and access auditing. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies and referral links

Our website may store a first-party cic_referral cookie when you arrive through a ChinaInChat referral link. It is used to preserve referral attribution when you later open a supported contact channel. It is not used to build advertising profiles. You can remove cookies through your browser settings; removing this cookie may prevent us from recognizing the referral source for a later visit.

9. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction on the handling of your personal information, withdraw consent, or ask questions about our handling of your information. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on a request, particularly where it concerns accompanying travelers or travel documents. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out on a valid basis and may prevent us from completing a service that depends on that information.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when our services, legal requirements or information practices change. The current version and effective date will be posted on this page. Where required, we will give additional notice or seek renewed consent.
